The Anchorage Breakfast Program, located at First United Methodist Church (FUMC), serves free breakfast every Monday through Friday, 52 weeks per year to Lancaster’s low income, unsheltered, and socially-excluded populations, and to any and all who are hungry. Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:45 a.m. each day with a regular menu of juice, milk, cereal, eggs, toast, a hot beverage, and fruit.
The Anchorage program, previously located at Saint James Episcopal Church, transitioned to First United Methodist in August of 2016. In its first year at FUMC, Anchorage served 33,603 breakfasts, or an average of 129 people a day. By the end of 2017, the program had scaled up to serving an average of 4,000 meals per month.
